Mohamed Elmenshawi

DJ Mensh

Egyptian-born and Houston-based, Mohamed Elmenshawi — DJ Mensh — has spent more than twenty years behind the decks, and has become a local favorite at Arabic celebrations across the city.

He's known for an exquisite ear and clever mixes that move a room from tarab to top 40 without a single empty moment. He reads the crowd, knows what the floor needs next, and keeps it full from the zaffa to the last song of the night.

How the night runs

Three movements, one room

Every wedding follows the same arc. Knowing where you are in it is the whole job.

The zaffa

Your entrance, timed to the door. Drums, mizmar and a beat drop the moment you step in — coordinated with your zaffa troupe or run entirely from the booth.

II

Dinner & mingling

Volume that lets your grandmother talk across the table. Tarab classics, Fairuz, soft oud, light lounge — read from the room, not from a locked playlist.

III

The floor opens

Live mixing between Arabic and American all night, so nobody sits down waiting for their song. Shaabi into house, khaleeji into hip-hop, dabke when the floor asks for it.
